These terms govern your use of monologue, a macOS application developed by Mihir Karandikar ("we", "us"). By downloading or using monologue, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13 years of age to use monologue. By downloading or using the app, you represent that you are at least 13.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use monologue on any Mac computers you own. This license is for your personal or professional use. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the software.

Free trial

monologue includes a 7-day free trial with full functionality. After the trial period, the app requires a paid license to continue operating. No payment information is collected during the trial. There are no auto-charges or automatic conversions.

Purchase and payment

A monologue license is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring fees, subscriptions, or usage limits. Prices are listed on our website and may change at any time, but changes do not affect existing license holders.

Your data

monologue processes all audio locally on your device. We have no access to your audio, transcriptions, or any content you create using the app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Availability and updates

We aim to keep monologue functional and up to date with current macOS releases, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with future operating system versions. We may release updates at our discretion and are not obligated to maintain or support any specific version indefinitely.

Disclaimer of warranties

monologue is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or that transcription output will be perfectly accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of monologue. Our total liability for any claim related to the software shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.

Intellectual property

monologue, its design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of Mihir Karandikar. Third-party components (including Whisper speech recognition models) are used under their respective open-source licenses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of monologue shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of monologue after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
